And since they already had a loyal following of buyers at their existing eBay store (where they often post auctions to move select merchandise), we added a dynamic product feed from their eBay store. Now, whenever an item is added or removed at the eBay store, this change is automatically reflected at powerequipmentsolutions.com too. Next on the list was interactive appointment scheduling that allows customers to schedule their own appointments with Power Equipment Solutions’ bustling service and fabrication departments. This is also integrated with an event calendar and user login through which staff members can view appointments (color coded by department). Then we added a similar application that allows customers to reserve their own golf cart rentals - and even pay their rental deposit online. And of course, the ‘Joomla!’ content management system provides an easy-to-use non-technical administrator interface that allows staff members to create and post their own content. So they can quickly post announcements about new products and off-site event exhibits. We also integrated an interactive Google map with driving directions (to pinpoint the store’s location), a dynamic interactive graphical calendar (to highlight their upcoming events), and an easily-managed photo gallery (that allows site users to rate photos and post comments). And we installed a newsletter component at the site that allows the staff to compose their own newsletter (using existing site content), allows subscribers to directly manage their own subscription preferences, and sends out each mailing with just a click of a button. And of course, the new site is very search-engine friendly, as it includes a complete set of title and meta tags, search-engine-friendly URLs, and dynamic site mapping. We are very proud of the powerequipmentsolutions.com site. But what is most exciting is how quickly the team at Power Equipment Solutions embraced the online technology and the capability that it offers. In a very short period of time, they went from having no site at all to being experts at serving customers online with unprecedented levels of service quality and customer satisfaction.
