We believe that a website should not only communicate information in attractive and entertaining ways, but it should also engage and connect users to each other, make it easier for organizational managers to learn and understand the needs of site users, and provide an infrastructure through which real business can be conducted online.
At the core of our work is an open-source content management system known as ‘Joomla!’. As a content management system, it uses a database-driven process for storing and organizing content and employs a template-based front-end - thus creating a distinction between the site’s content and the site’s appearance. This allows us to deliver a consistent and sophisticated look to the site that can be easily changed or updated without affecting the content or function of the site. And vice versa, changes to the content or function of the site can be made with virtually no impact upon the look of the site.
With our easy-to-learn and easy-to-use administrative interface, site content can be updated and maintained by just about anyone, regardless of their technical aptitude. No coding skills are necessary. And because the system is built upon an open-source architecture maintained by an active community of contributors, the underlying software is not based upon proprietary secrets. As a result, our site owners have the ability to maintain complete control and are not at the eternal mercy of contractors or consultants. (However, if you prefer that we maintain your site for you, we’re happy to do that too.)
Multiple user access levels allow for flexible but controlled access and security, so access to particular content or to certain functions can be intentionally limited only to select groups of users. And because there are literally millions of websites built upon our 'Joomla!' CMS platform, there is a small army of security experts testing and improving the software on a daily basis. Our sites deliver a very high level of security.
And the availablity of thousands of software ‘extensions’ broadens the functionality of our sites to peform many specific tasks, including online stores, shopping carts, user forums, media galleries, event calendars, games, and much more. Compatible software already exists for virtually any application, so implementation is typically inexpensive and does not require expensive programming hours to write code from scratch. This makes it relatively easy to put our sites to work and to get down to business interacting with your customers and constituents!
